Beyond basic care, Lavalavike Ashrama empowers the community through learning. The “Anadashram” Vocational Training Programme offers both theory and practical tailoring lessons in batches of 25 young women, along with free summer tailoring workshops for high school girls. An extended vocational centre provides year-long professional tailoring education, preparing women for employment in garment factories or for self-employment from home. Holistic wellness is also part of the Ashrama’s ethos. Free yoga and meditation classes are available for both senior citizens and children, promoting physical health, mental clarity, and inner peace. The home extends its support to seniors in varied life situations, those separated from children due to relocation or marriage, the unmarried or childless, divorced or widowed individuals, and anyone without caregivers. Accommodation
The facility has grown from housing 15 residents to 50, thanks to a newly built residential block designed for safety, comfort, and a relaxed lifestyle. Dedicated housekeeping staff ensure all areas remain clean and sanitized. Laundry services covering bed linens, towels, and daily clothing are regularly provided, with ironing as needed. The result is a secure and caring environment where residents can enjoy dignity, companionship, and a high standard of living without financial burden.
