CR Foundation Home For Aged

The “Home for the Aged” under CR Foundation began its operations on October 2, 1999. Since then, it has grown into a well-established residential care institution that provides shelter and support to elderly individuals who have made significant contributions to society. The facility has a total of 63 rooms and is capable of accommodating around 112 residents at a time. The residents of this home are not ordinary individuals but people with an inspiring history of service and dedication. Among them are social workers who devoted their lives to serving disadvantaged communities, freedom fighters and former legislators who actively contributed to the nation, intellectuals such as retired professors, engineers, and officers who spent their careers building knowledge and infrastructure, and renowned journalists who shaped public opinion through their work. Together, these residents form a vibrant community of individuals who, even in their later years, continue to inspire with their stories and experiences.

Amenities

To ensure the comfort and well-being of its residents, the Home for the Aged has introduced several thoughtful amenities. One of the most notable is the installation of a cold room in the kitchen, funded by the SBH Staff Association Welfare Trust. This facility allows the safe storage of food items and enables the preparation of fresh meals for the senior citizens on a daily basis. The initiative ensures that residents not only receive nutritious food but also enjoy meals that are prepared with high standards of hygiene and care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Home prioritized the health of its residents. Both the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were administered to all residents at the Primary Health Centre in Hafizpet. This vaccination drive was made possible through the collective efforts of medical professionals including Dr. G. Srujana, Deputy DMHO of Ranga Reddy, along with Dr. Vinay, Dr. Hanok, and Dr. Rajani, the Chief Medical Officer of CR Foundation. They were supported by additional medical staff as well as CR Foundation’s leadership and committee members. This proactive effort highlighted the institution’s commitment to safeguarding its elderly community during a time of global crisis.

The accommodation at CR Foundation’s Home for the Aged is not just about providing rooms but about building a community of individuals with rich personal histories and remarkable contributions to society. In addition, the home also accommodates renowned journalists whose voices once informed and guided public discourse.
